It all started in back 2009, in a carport of Chadstone, a suburb in Melbourne's South East. An unprecidented time in global financial markets in the midths of the global financial crisis, one of the companies founders was undergoing a rennovation at his home and after seeking a set of timber Bi Fold doors, was left surprised by the lack of quality for what seemed to be very expensive prices, he decided to ask for help from a brother and carpenter to help him build his own set.
So proud of their work, they decided to list them on e-Bay, and the response they got was overwhelming. Not only did they sell the original set of Bi Fold doors, but they had a huge number of requests asking if they could make more.
Working out of a carport and struggling to keep up with the growing demand, they reached out to two other brothers, who came on board and the brothers incorporated was formed, later shortened to BINQ.
Inevitably it didn't take long to grow out of the carport, and we relocated to a small factory in Clayton, Victoria.
Expanding from Bi Folds, to other doors and windows, and understanding the industry at the time, it became evident that there was a lack of high quality products in the market place.
After travelling the globe and being taken away by the German designs and manufacturing systems, it became clear the future direction of Binq, and we sought to adopt the philosophies of both product design and manufacturing techniques seen in Europe.
Seeking private capital to help fast track the growth of the business, we attracted interest from numerous groups, and decided to partner with a reputable Melbourne family with generational experience in business and operations. This proved to be the right decision as it provided the systems and disipline the business needed.
We've now enhanced our product offer, designs and manufacturing techniques, and offer a full suite of timber and aluminium window systems catering to a range of both residential and commercial markets in Australia.
Right through the journey, one thing has stood true, 'To raise the standard in the industry by giving customers unequivocal excellence in product and service, at fair prices', and still stand true to this day.
